Points of Appeal

The Mitsubishi Electric CITY MULTI series was the natural choice for air conditioning because of the rapid installation ease and diversified systems operation capabilities. Simultaneous cooling and heating operations in different parts of the building, and remote control that ensures fast and easy temperature adjustment were also desirable features.

Important to this project was ensuring that installation did not disturb working conditions, and that the structural appearance not be altered as the buildings are located in an historic district. Mitsubishi Electric air conditioners were chosen for the entire facility, which has a floor space of 95,500 square meters. Outdoor units are installed on the roofs, and flush-mounted ceiling cassette indoor units provide quiet operation, making the systems virtually unseen and unheard.

Compact installation space requirements, independent temperature control in each room, an advanced centralized management system and energy-efficient operation were key factors leading to the installation of Mitsubishi Electric air conditioners. The system is set up for Web monitoring, annual and weekly schedules, and can be adjusted by personal Web control.

The air conditioning and ventilation equipment of this 25-story building were all supplied by Mitsubishi Electric, and are controlled by the company's MELANS building air-conditioning control system. In total, nearly 600 independently controlled units work to maintain optimum air quality and room environment conditions in the commercial and residential spaces, which have a total floor area of 80,254 square meters.
