Mitsubishi Electric has a long history of working closely with
industries that demand only the best in terms of reliability. Many
companies that provide the backbone of social infrastructure such
as power companies use our power devices. This has given us an edge
in gaining valuable knowledge when it comes to building in and maintaining
reliability in development and production management.
Our other strong point lies in-house. Mitsubishi Electric is a
world-leading manufacturer of elevators and electrical equipment.
By supplying such divisions in the company with our power devices
for use in their products, we are able to quickly find out exactly
what our customers need.

we could streamline our own operations and speed up the decision

Current sales structure |
| Our previous system
was based on an intricate matrix whereby each order was broken
down by geographical area, customer and product. |
 |
The sales and manufacturing divisions for
each product and field deal directly with clients. Each member
of our sales team concentrates on only one field or product
so they can provide customers with specialized advice on their
particular product and how it best fits in with that customer's
own strategic requirements. We also place great emphases on
supply chain management and we are committed to keeping lead
times down; we promise to deliver within one month from receiving
an order. |
To help our customers keep their own lead-time down, we are working
to systemize our products. One example is our intelligent power
module (IPM), a composite-type semiconductor device with multiple
semiconductor chips wired in a single package that includes various
protection circuits and control circuits. Customers who use our
IPMs are able to drastically reduce the time needed for development.
