| Widescreen Compatibility |
| The WL639U is a WXGA (1280 x
800 dots) projector compatible with the aspect ratio of widescreen TV
broadcasts and PC displays. With a display area approximately
1.3 times that of a conventional XGA projector, the WL639U can effectively
utilize wall space even in low-ceilinged rooms. The WL639U also
offers invaluable support for creating an advanced video teleconferencing
system, such as by providing a high-resolution image and ensuring a wide
display area for split screens. |
| The wide display area provides a larger display of split screens. |
| Wide TV broadcasts can displayed in their original aspect ratio. |
| Low Fan Noise |
| Fan noise is a very low 29
dBA (in Low Lamp mode), allowing viewers to concentrate
on the presentation in a quiet environment. |
| The BrightEra™ panel provides a brightness level of 3500
lm |
| The newly developed BrightEra™
panel employs an inorganic alignment film and a vertically aligned LCD
to significantly improve resistance to damage from light, enabling the
use of a more powerful light source than with previous compact panels. The
use of an inorganic panel also ensures a longer life.
In addition, a new double-speed field inversion drive system suppresses
the LCD alignment variance previously caused by voltage differences between
the pixel lines. This further increases the aperture ratio of the
pixels, achieving the world's highest light utilization efficiency. |

| A long lamp life of up to 4,000 hours (when used in “Low
Lamp” mode) |
| By optimizing temperature control of the light
source lamp, lamp life has been extended to as long as 4,000 hours*¹,
significantly reducing running costs and the aggravation of having to frequently
replace a burned out lamp*². |
*1: Maximum lamp life is 4,000 hours when used
in the “Low Lamp” mode and 2,000 hours in the “Standard
Lamp” mode.
*2: Lamp life refers to the average time required for lamp brightness to decrease
50% — it is not the guaranteed life of the lamp. Actual lamp life may vary
considerably depending on the usage environment and conditions, and whether cleaning
and other maintenance is properly performed. |
| Lamp side replacement |
| The lamp can be accessed from
the side of the projector, so the projector does not have to be turned
upside down. This makes it much easier to replace the lamp without having
to remove the projector from a stand or suspended installation. |
| Wall screen |
| The color of the projected image can be adjusted
according to the color of the wall on which it is projected, thus achieving
more natural coloring. Such color adjustment is compatible with blackboards
and with beige, light blue, light green, and pink wall surfaces. Fine adjustment
of the coloring is also possible for wall screens other than blackboards. |
| DVI input terminal |
| In addition to two analog RGB (mini D-sub)
input terminals, the WL639U is also equipped with a DVI-D digital interface
terminal (HDCP compatible) that helps prevent image quality deterioration.
These three computer input terminals together with the two video input
terminals enable the projector to handle all types of presentations. |
| PJLink compatible |
| External control
is possible via a serial terminal and a remote terminal. By using the included
LAN control utility, operations such as switching the projector's power
on and off and changing the input source can be performed via a network.
The WL639U is also compatible with PJLink, the standard projector control
protocol. |

| Security anchor |
| Attaching a strong lockable cable
or chain through the projector's security anchor helps prevent unauthorized
removal or theft. |

responsible if theft of the projector occurs despite using this security
anchor. |
