Mitsubishi Electric is proactive
in the research and development of safety evaluation technology
sand high-efficiency implementation technology, such as
RSA encryption and elliptic curve cryptosystems (ECC).
Public-key encryption is a cornerstone technology used
in digital signature and partner authentication, indispensable
in creating a safe and reliable IT society. The fruits
of our efforts in the research and development of public-key
encryption technology can be seen in both software and
hardware and have been utilized in the creation of e-government
systems and ubiquitous societies.
CRESERC
CRESERC, an implementation method using elliptic
curve digital signature algorithm (ECDSA) has been launched in a joint
project with NTT and Hitachi, Ltd. The elliptic curve encryption is
focused on as the next-generation public-key encryption alongside
RSA encryption for its ability to maintain encryption strength and
to encrypt data in short keys and at high speed. ECDSA is an electric
signature algorithm using elliptic curve encryption and has been selected
as the recommended encryption by such organizations as NESSIE and
CRYPTREC. CRESERC is anticipated to be implemented in various applications
that require information security technology, including e-government
and ubiquitous-related systems.
At Mitsubishi Electric, we have
introduced research results for safety evaluation technology and high-efficiency
calculation algorithms, such as RSA encryption, elliptic linear encryption,
and public-key encryption algorithms.
Our research papers have received
various awards from diverse organizations. The Institute of Electronics,
Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) and the Japan Society
for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (JSIAM), for example, have
both recognized our efforts.
