About the Report

This report, issued annually, includes information about corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives by the Mitsubishi Electric Group to help realize a sustainable society. It primarily reports on significant activities, events and changes that occurred in fiscal 2007. In reporting our activities, we tried to go beyond just presenting our principles and the results of activities to date in order to also touch on future policies and issues. We are guided in this effort by the "plan-do-check-act" approach.

Beginning in 2007 we switched to a website-based report, which enables timely delivery of the most up-to-date information to stakeholders.

We endeavor to fulfill our responsibility of presenting information to the public in order to broaden our range of communication with stakeholders. We appreciate any and all frank and honest feedback intended to further improve the report.

Composition

Aiming to fulfill our responsibility of presenting information to the public, the CSR report consists of four main sections: Basic Policy & Management, Social Responsibility, Philanthropic Activities, and Environmental Report. In particular, the Social Responsibility section reports of our responsibility and conduct toward stakeholders.

We have also added special coverage on our challenges to prevent global warming, which has emerged as a critical issue worldwide.
