Vision

Initiatives to Prevent Global WarmingInitiatives to Prevent Global Warming
  • Undertake the technological innovation and promulgation of energy-saving products with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions from product usage by 30% (compared to 2000 levels)

  • On the presumption of sustainable growth, aim to reduce CO2 emissions from product manufacturing by 30% (520,000 tons) throughout the Mitsubishi Electric Group

  • Contribute to the prevention of global warming by providing products and systems to non-CO2-producing power-generating operations, such as for solar and nuclear energy production, to reduce CO2 emissions from power generation

Aim to Reduce CO2 Emissions from Product Usage by 30%Aim to Reduce CO2 Emissions from Product Usage by 30%

Prevent global warming by delivering energy-saving products

  • Further evolution of distinctive technologies cultivated over many years

  • Further innovation in inverter/power semiconductor technologies shared across all Mitsubishi Electric Group businesses

  • Development of system solutions

CO2 emissions from product usage - A factor of 50 - CO2 emissions from production - At the office - At home - In transit - At public facilities - At the plant - Heavy electric machinery system - Industrial mechatronics - Data communications systems - Electronic devices - Household appliances

Aim to Reduce Total CO2 Emissions from Production by 30%Aim to Reduce Total CO2 Emissions from Production by 30%

Reduce by 30% - Target 750 kt-CO2 - Base Year - 1,070 kt-CO2 - 2007 Result - 890 kt-CO2 - 2022 Projected - 1,270 kt-CO2 - Reduce 520 kt-CO2 - * Calculated on the presumption of 3% growth in Japan and 5% growth overseas. - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (Base Year : 1990) - Subsidiaries and Affiliates (Japan) (Base Year : 2000) - Subsidiaries and Affiliates (Overseas) (Base Year : 2005)

Increase energy efficiency by implementing three measures

  • Continued investment in energy efficiency at a targeted rate of 0.1% of production value through introduction of high-efficiency equipment

  • Setting of energy-efficiency targets for all company locations and carrying out of activities related to the Energy-Loss Minimization Project

  • Install photovoltaic power systems at model factories and expand to Group companies after accumulation of best practices know-how

Contribute to Reduction of CO2 Emissions from Power GenerationContribute to Reduction of CO2 Emissions from Power Generation

Provide products and systems to non-CO2-producing power-generating operations

  • Solar and nuclear energy production

  • Reduce CO2 emissions from power generation

CO2 emissions reduced to zero with use of photovoltaics - Promote installations and increase module efficiency
