1991

More than 80 meetings were held to discuss unified control of 25 buildings

There were 25 buildings in total, with a floor-space of 1,507,199 sq. m. Owned by Mitsubishi Estate, the buildings extended from Tokyo station to Yurakucho and Otemachi. Many of the buildings used the same internal equipment and infrastructure, such as lighting, elevators, air-conditioning and communications systems, that had been installed over 30 years before. Each building was managed with separate equipment and systems, and of course, the specifications differed from building to building. Mitsubishi Estate's order was to have a single unified management system for all 25 buildings. To create such a system, the specifications for each building, structure plan examination for each block in great detail was needed. The project team from Mitsubishi Electric's Kobe Control Factory held over 80 meetings with Mitsubishi Estate to discuss the processes of the management system operation, and to formulate a basic plan that suited all the buildings and was in sync to Mitsubishi Estate's post-renovation management system plan.
