Technology that can move a mid-size truck at 45km/h
The ultra high-speed elevators installed in the Landmark tower has a holding capacity of 1,600kg. The weight of the elevator car itself is 6,500kg. The 2 combined is a whopping 8 ton carriage, equivalent to a mid-size truck*, that moves up and down at speeds of 750m/m. It becomes quite evident the incredible amounts of energy at work. And it was the Mitsubishi Electric engineers that proved through their technical skill and expertise that the awesome output of energy, while providing a comfortable ride, could be produced and that breaking speed records was all quite possible.
* With a typical medium-sized truck, the weight is about 4t and the freight weight is about 4t.
