To discover the direction of the holy city even in the middle of the desert
In Saudi Arabia, people pray toward Mecca eight times a day. The history of car navigation started with a model developed to show users the direction of the holy city. That was in 1977 and@in principle it was simple: a compass application that measures earth magnetism. However, a compass alone cannot show current location. To find where a location is, the next step was to combine a compass with a velocity sensor that could measure how many kilometers a vehicle had traveled over time. If you combine the starting point and directional travel, you can then calculate the relative position. The problem is the margin of error.
