The success experienced with the NYCT project pushed Mitsubishi Electric into the international limelight. It helped boost the experience needed to doing business with international partners, and gained the technological expertise and confidence to overcome problems. After receiving an order from General Motors in the US, Mitsubishi Electric went on to supply air-conditioning systems for rail cars all over the globe, including Manila in the Philippines, Wuhan and Tienchin in China, Athens in Greece, etc. Perhaps the train you always ride is air-conditioned by a Mitsubishi Electric model.
