 Mitsubishi
Electric Corporation participated in the ITU TELECOM WORLD 2003
exhibition held in Geneva, Switzerland, where the company revealed
number of successful results from its latest research and development
endeavors, such as IT-based space infrastructure mobile communications
and broadband technologies, as well as various next-generation
products, under the theme of "Seamless and Secure Ubiquitous
Communications".
The theme stage of the Mitsubishi Electric
Booth introduced the company's Quasi-Zenith Satellite System,
which is currently under development. When in operation, this
system will provide more reliable network communications by
delivering signals to hard-to-reach places such as areas between
skyscrapers and remote spots in mountainous regions, thus
achieving optimum coverage for next-generation communications
for mobile terminals, be it mobile phones, car information
systems or otherwise.
