programs on demand, and even do some online shopping at 35,000
feet is a luxury that's getting closer to reality with each
passing day.
A "Connexion by Boeing" in-flight Internet system
is already in the works, developed jointly by Mitsubishi Electric
and Boeing. Featuring advanced microwave electronics and phased
array antenna technology, it will provide commercial airplane
passengers with a broadband Internet connection using high-speed
satellite communications.
