Quasi-Zenith
satellites are a promising alternative to conventional satellites
in geostationary or low-altitude orbits.
Representing another space-based technology that requires
the integration of a variety of Mitsubishi Electric systems
and components, Quasi-Zenith satellite systems provide constant
coverage over a particular area of the Earth through employment
of a series of satellites, each of which is above the target
area for eight hours a day.
Such satellite systems can deliver huge amounts of broadcast,
global positioning and other data at high speed and with high
quality, and without being obstructed by tall buildings or
mountains. It's particularly well suited to the communications
needs for transportation, disaster relief and other critical
infrastructures.
