SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- February 18, 2003 -- Following the success of its unique Design Accelerator Kit for its SMD^[1] high-power GaAs FETs^[2], the Electronic Device Group of Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA, Inc., today introduced the "Design Accelerator Kit 2" for its new consolidated line of MOSFET-based silicon RF modules for VHF and UHF applications. The new Design Accelerator Kit, featuring Mitsubishi Electric's proprietary DataSurveyor™ software, enables designers to review the RA07MxxxxM device family to evaluate the performance characteristics of each device in a matter of minutes, rather than weeks, slashing both development costs and time-to-market.

"Just as we addressed the needs of microwave fixed wireless access designers with our first Design Accelerator Kit, we have designed our newest kit to help VHF and UHF radio designers avoid wasting time in the initial design phase," said Bryon Gutow, senior product marketing manager for microwave and RF products at Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA, Inc. "This kit eliminates guesswork in selecting a suitable product for the end application, saving designers up to two weeks in the initial design process. All designers have to do is attach the connectors, hook up the DC bias voltage, and begin measuring."

Design Accelerator Kit 2 includes DataSurveyor processing software, a test board (mounted on a heat sink), applications data, and two samples of each of the following silicon RF modules:

-	RA07M1317M-E01 -- 135 MHz to 170 MHz
-	RA07M2127M-E01 -- 215 MHz to 270 MHz
-	RA07M3340M-E01 -- 330 MHz to 400 MHz
-	RA07M4047M-E01 -- 400 MHz to 470 MHz
-	RA07M4452M-E01 -- 440 MHz to 520 MHz
