VERA stands for Very long baseline interferometry Exploration of Radio Astronomy. A VERA telescope is 100 times more powerful than a standard telescope, capable of discerning a small coin on the moon’s surface.
These radio telescopes integrate Mitsubishi Electric 20m dual beam antennas, high-precision field rotators and other components in a way that's helping humankind understand our universe better.
VERA telescopes are being used to create 3D maps of the galaxy and to investigate the history of the galaxy and the distribution of dark matter (unknown substances that comprise the bulk of mass in the universe).
