Mitsubishi Electric is a manufacturer of satellites designed for a variety of purposes. Like GOSAT (Greenhouse gases Observing Satellite), set to launch in 2008 to measure Earth's greenhouse gas concentrations.
Current terrestrial observation presents many problems that make accurate measurement on a global scale difficult, but GOSAT will be able to measure the distribution of CO2 and methane gas from 56,000 observation points around the world every three days, which will reveal the status of gas emissions on a global scale.
