How NAYUTA "sees" A 50,000 km journey

NAYUTA's two meter diameter primary mirror is made of a single sheet of solid glass about 20 centimeters thick, coated with aluminum and surface-treated to prevent deterioration.

Made by Sagem in France, it traveled a long distance before it could be mounted on NAYUTA. The glass sheet material was made in Germany by Schott AG, precision polished at a Sagem plant, and surface-coated at Calar Alto Observatory in Spain.

When it comes to seeking superior quality, national borders are irrelevant. After many steps and a long journey, the primary mirror was finally mounted on NAYUTA.
